NASCO was established in 1986 as a joint venture between NHK Spring Co., Ltd. of Yokohama, Japan and Associated Spring, Barnes Group Inc. of Bristol, Connecticut. The original facility was built in 1987 on a 50-acre site on Highway 31-W on the west edge of Bowling Green, Kentucky. This 60,000 square foot facility has been expanded several times to accommodate business growth and new product lines. In May 2005 we became a wholly owned subsidiary of NHK Spring.
Today over 210 employees work in the 348,000 square foot facility operating 5 hot wound coil suspension spring lines, 2 material turning lines, 2 cold drawing lines, trunk lid torsion bar production and equipment, as well as the modern and sophisticated infrastructure to warehouse and ship our products.

It has 10 plants in Japan and over 56 affiliates doing business world-wide. NHK Spring continues to expand its range of products and innovative solutions.
The highest level of technical support to our customers is the mission of NHK International Corp. in Wixom, Michigan.
They are well-equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment and employ the leading product engineers in the field. NHK International is 100% owned by NHK Spring. They facilitate technology exchange through collaboration with NHK Spring and Nasco. Because of this collaboration we are able to offer to our customers all of NHK Spring’s design and technical support resources, the research in new technology for spring components, and full-service joint development capabilities. NHK International helps to achieve outstanding solutions for our customers by providing the following services:
1. Designing, engineering and developing existing products for the next model and new model vehicles.
2. Acquiring information concerning specifications, prototype evaluation and field- test evaluation from the customers and preparing final mass production specifications
3. Preparing drawings for prototypes and mass production by using CAD system.
4. Providing VE/VA proposals.
5. Attending customer design and launch kick meetings and providing NASCO with necessary information.6. Designing and developing new products.
